:: Dune Chimes ::

These three long tongues of fine silver precious metal clay were created atop a pure white gypsum dune on a warm spring day at White Sands, New Mexico.  Hand-shaped and pressed into a patch of cemented grains on the dune, they carry the elegance and wild, quiet grace of the Sands.

Once fired, these talismans were minimally processed to preserve the quality of the sands and immediacy of the moment, even my fingerprints.  The lightest patina was added, and a coating of Renaissance Wax to preserve the pale, dusty surfaces.

These were set on a simple beaded strand of glass seed beads--my Sand mix--with Thai fine silver, bronze seed pearls, and Burmese antique silver beads.  At the juncture there is a Neolithic quartz chip bead from Africa layered with a fine silver disc that was molded from the weathered root of White Sands desert rosemary mint.

A delicate and very elegant, understated piece, this truly captures the flavor of the dunes.

SIZE: 22" from the back of your neck to the end of the talismans when worn.

CARE:  The entire necklace may be washed with cool water.  Blot dry with a soft towel.  The silver talismans and beads can be lightly polished with a silver polishing cloth.  This will bring up some shine on the talismans; if you wish to restore the matte surface then buff them again with a dry kitchen scrubbing pad.

PRESENTATION:  This necklace will come to you giftwrapped in recycled and earth-friendly packaging.  See my shop policies below for details.
