:: Conductor of Souls ::

Hypersthene is a powerful, dramatic stone.  This one especially, a long, rough oblong crisscrossed with scars that bursts forth with a brilliant satiny flash in the sun.  It comes from the lapidary of Gary Wilson in Tucson.

Set simply in an understated bezel, this all-sterling ring is adjustable, approximately a size 8 to 9 but also a bit beyond that.  The substantial band is heat textured and earthen in appearance.   A deep patina is over all; hand finished to a matte surface.  As always, it was made entirely with the simplest hand tools.

I imagine this as something worn by a psychopomp, a conductor of souls between the worlds, the black oblong a dark doorway into mystery.

SIZE:  Because the band is not perfectly round, it is very hard to gauge the exact size range of this ring.  My best estimate is that it is around a ring size 8-9.  The stone in its bezel measures 1 6/8" x 5/8" x 1/4"

CARE: Wash and wear as desired. Do not scrub the ring or you will damage the patina...let it become richer with time and wear.  The patina will deepen naturally over time while the high spots will become brighter.  If you wish to restore the matte surface, simply buff the silver lightly with a dry kitchen scrubbing pad, avoiding the stone.

PRESENTATION:  This ring will come to you giftwrapped in recycled and earth-friendly packaging.  See my shop policies below for details.
