+++ Contains Fossil Mammoth and Walrus Ivory: For US Domestic Sale Only +++

An open strand of beads with a cluster of talismans at each end to be held in the hand.  Keyed for accessing the energies of the new Earth paradigm and the evolutionary energies at work in the world today, and for grounding in the present moment, contemplation, prayer and meditation.  This smaller, lighter strand is a rich composition of high desert hues, crystals, ancient ivory, fossils, gems and handmade beads, linking you to the peace and healing earth of the Southwest.  Many fossils are included, which lend a sense of deep time and a long perspective, which in itself can be very balancing.

About Spirit Beads:

I have been making Spirit Beads for over a decade now, and they remain one of my favorite things to do. These long hand-held strands are created as way to enable you to access the energies of the next step of our evolution.  By meditating with, holding, wearing, or simply gazing at the beads, they help you access the new paradigm of higher consciousness that is available to all of us, here and now.  They're made to give you something physical to touch, to remind you that these new energies are meant to express in our physical lives as we live them.  Having something you can hold that is a connection to the new energies of spiritual consciousness can be extremely helpful.  You can also use them for centering, to calm and refocus after a busy day, as well as for meditation, prayer, and ceremony.  What I love about Spirit Beads is that you are free to create your own way of interacting with them.  There's no right or wrong way to engage with them or their energy...just play with, enjoy them, and allow it to flow to you naturally.

This open-ended "shawl" style was originally created by contemporary prayer bead artisan Eleanor Wiley, who has traveled the world teaching others how to make and use their own prayer beads. I will include an information sheet with this set that will give you some suggestions as to how to use them.

These Spirit Beads work mainly as a hand-held strand of meditation beads, but will also work as a large, ceremonial necklace.  You can wear them in an open-ended fashion, as shown in the photo of the mannequin, to make a magnificent cascade of beads.  They also look lovely kept on your home altar, coffee table, nightstand, or even hung on the wall...any place where they will invite you to pick them up, and easily come to hand.  I have several sets of Spirit Beads and keep them on my mannequin or on the walls so I can always see them. They help bless and energize my workspace and home.

The Amulets:

A large artifact fragment of polished fossil walrus ivory is on each end.  These come from St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, where they are dug only by the native Yupik people from old village sites.  One has horizontal marks, the other looks like it was an old scribe or graver.  Two pendants of fossil mastodon or mammoth ivory are also on each end.  Found in Siberia, these were shaped at the lapidary of Gary Wilson; the blue hue comes from the mineral vivianite.  I created the long bronze talisman which was molded from a Mojave desert granite boulder.  The fossil fern amulet is also from Gary Wilson.

Each talisman is suspended from a hammered and oxidized brass link, some of which are beaded.  Rings hold the links: one was excavated in eastern Europe and the other was created from bronze clay and impressed with a kunzite crystal.

The Beads:

A wide variety of treasures!  Two handmade glass Basha Beads by Barbara Metzger, natural pyrite crystals, fossil ammonite, turquoise, saguaro cactus rib, fossil brachiopod, fossil ivory, Baltic black amber, rough brown tourmaline, green garnet, Yoruba granulated brass, fossil dinosaur bone, blister pearl, andalusite, juniper seeds, handmade glass and clay beads, etched agate, and more.  The spacers are picture jasper.

The strand was strung on durable medium-weight beading wire (stainless steel fibers coated with nylon), and wherever possible I lined beads with larger holes with glass seed beads to help them sit better on the strand.  This protects the beads and improves the lifetime of the piece, and also improves the way the strand feels when it is worn and held in the hand.

SIZE: The strand measures 48" end to end.

CARE:  Because of the mammoth ivory, fossils, organic, and clay elements, handle this set with care.   Wipe the beads with a soft, damp cloth if you wish to clean them.

PRESENTATION: These Spirit Beads will arrive beautifully giftwrapped. See the shop policies below for details.
