This well-polished ring of antique New Guinea shell currency makes an excellent touchstone.  A mediation on the sacred spiral of time, it rests well in the hand and can be turned freely on its loop.  These beautiful ethnographic talismans are becoming increasingly rare.  I have woven it onto a cord made with some very lovely Latvian linen I recently received.  The linen is a light natural hue and is pleasantly soft.

On the cord are handmade naturally-shed antler beads from the Northwest, Pre-Columbian shell beads from South America, and ostrich eggshell discs from Africa.  I added four juniper seed Navajo Ghost Beads which are thought to keep away bad dreams and evil spirits, one of each of the four directions.

This is a very summery-looking necklace due to its high-key natural colors and materials, but it would also look amazing in the winter over a sweater of the same hue.  It is soft and lightweight, and very durable and easy to wear.

SIZE:  19 3/4" from the back of your neck to the bottom of the shell pendant when worn.  The shell currency is 1 1/2" wide.

CARE:  Do not immerse in water as this will cause the antler to split.  Spot clean the linen cord if necessary with mild detergent or stain remover.  Rinse and gently blot excess water with a towel and allow to air dry.  Clean the shell, seeds and antler with a soft, damp cloth.

PRESENTATION: This necklace will come to you beautifully giftwrapped in a hand decorated gift box.  See the shop policies below for details.
