:: Fossil Totem ::
The tooth is a remarkable piece, an ancient relic turned to stone in colors of rich, subtle siennas and greys. At either end the convoluted structure of the tooth is visible. I drilled the fossil myself and combined it with a vertical arrangement of stacked elements connected with handmade fine silver Thai Hill Tribe beads. A very heavy and rustic fine silver ring, hammered on desert rock, is in the center. Above it is an ancient Post-Classic Mayan stone bead from Guatemala. Possibly jade, this bead is 700 to 1100 year old.

The strand is a bold arrangement of round pearls in mixed metallic shades, Thai Hill Tribe silver, beads made from ancient walrus ivory from St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, vintage brass from Orissa, India, and brass barrels and etched brass beads. The piece was strung on professional grade beading wire, with sterling wire wraps concealing the crimp beads.

A powerfully primitive piece!
