Wabi Sabi Bronze Fossil Earrings

These earrings are the soul of simplicity with a deeply ancient feeling, or, perhaps, ancient-future because they seem to be outside of time…like the desert itself. I made them with bronze metal clay with was impressed with a 300 million year old fossil crinoid, denizen of a primordial sea. Crinoids were simple creatures not unlike sea anemones. They looked like alien flowers; the part I used was once the section of a stem. The clay was fired in a kiln, cleaned and then finished by hand in a process of several steps. Sterling silver ear wires, hammered on desert rock, were added…they needed nothing more.

SIZE: 3” long by 1/2” wide.

CARE: Wash and wear with soap and water. The bronze will deepen in color over time. It can be brightened with steel wool or a jeweler’s polishing cloth.

PACKAGING: These earrings will arrive giftwrapped in hand-decorated, Earth-friendly packaging, wrapped inside an organic cotton pouch. Please reuse or recycle the wrappings.
